What we collect, what we don't, and why.

Last updated April 10, 2026. We wrote this in plain English on purpose.

1. Information we collect

When you use VoxLang we collect:

  • Account information — name, email, profile details you provide when you sign up.
  • Usage data — which features you use, session duration, learning progress. Aggregated, not tied to a marketing profile.
  • Translation history — text, voice, and image translations so the app can show them back to you and power spaced repetition.
  • Device information — device type, OS, app version, for compatibility and debugging.

2. How we use it

  • To provide, maintain, and improve VoxLang.
  • To personalize your tutor and interpreter sessions.
  • To power flashcards and track learning progress.
  • To improve the models that run the product.
  • To send you service updates, security alerts, and support replies.

3. Data sharing

We don’t sell your data. Ever. We may share anonymized, aggregated analytics for research purposes. We use third-party model providers (Anthropic for Claude, Google TTS, etc.) to process translations and tutor responses; those providers only see what they need to do the job.

4. Storage & security

Data lives on Supabase infrastructure in US-East. Everything is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; we don’t store them.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You can:

  • See what personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Export it in a portable format.
  • Opt out of non-essential data processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

Email hello@voxlang.net and we’ll handle it within 30 days.
